Because every brushstroke tells a story of resilience. Supporting this program means walking hand in hand with men and women who are rebuilding their lives, while also strengthening the work of Hand Up Ministries, Inc.

"Partner with us to give hope, restore lives, and showcase redemption through art."

"Every brush stroke tells a story of redemption," said David Nichols, Founder and President of Hand Up Ministries, Inc. "Through this program, our donors not only support life-changing art but also partner in the ministry of giving second chances and building hope."

Together, we are painting a legacy of faith, redemption, and second chances

The Brushstrokes of Hope program is part of Hand Up Ministries' broader Hope On Solid Ground Campaign, which includes building a new Office/Chapel facility, expanding transportation programs, and continuing faith-based reentry support for Oklahoma's most underserved population.

Inspirational Testimonials from Ex-Offenders

Sean Miller — Painting Heritage, Rebuilding Life
“When you’re painting country—you can feel like you’re not in jail.”
Through The Torch program in Australia, Sean rediscovered his cultural roots and voice as an artist. His works are now in national collections, showing how art restores dignity and reduces recidivism.

Jesse Krimes — Art that Transcends Bars
“Artwork facilitated conversation. It humanized me to some of the guards.”
While in solitary confinement, Jesse used unconventional materials to create art that was later exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. His work became a bridge of understanding and a tool for transformation.

David 'Suave' Gonzalez — Creating with What Was Available
Using coffee grounds, makeshift brushes, and toothpaste as glue, David created powerful murals behind bars. Today his work is exhibited in galleries, standing as a testament of resilience, innovation, and healing.

6 Weeks of Hope- Rebuilding Lives from Day One
A Fundraising Campaign by Hand Up Ministries, Inc.
Project Overview
Every week, men are released from prison with nothing but the clothes on their back—no home, no job, no food, and no hope. Without immediate support, many fall back into homelessness, crime, or addiction—often on the very first night of freedom.
Hand Up Ministries, Inc. is stepping in to change that reality.
We offer ex-felons a structured six-week reentry program that provides everything they need to start fresh: housing, food, clothing, hygiene, transportation, emotional support, and job assistance. But we can’t do it alone.
We need your help.

Campaign Goal
We are seeking ongoing donations to cover the $3,500 total cost per person, or $600 per week for 6 weeks, to support every newly released ex-felon who enters our program.
This investment is the difference between homelessness and healing, between recidivism and redemption.
