Many men arrive at Hand Up Ministries carrying years of pain, addiction, incarceration, rejection, and hopelessness. Yet through faith, mentorship, housing, counseling, and love, lives begin to change.
Today, many residents are asking for two things:
1. A Bible they can call their own
2. The opportunity to be baptized and publicly declare their faith in Jesus Christ
Hand Up Ministries is launching the 'Waters of Hope – 400 Bibles & Baptism Outreach Campaign' to provide every willing resident with God’s Word and the opportunity for baptism.
Together, we are offering more than shelter—we are offering hope, redemption, and a new beginning through faith.

Way a Bible Matters at Hand Up Ministries, Inc.
For many of the men who arrive at Hand Up Ministries, life has been filled with disappointment, broken relationships, poor choices, addiction, incarceration, homelessness, and hopelessness. Many arrive carrying little more than a small bag of belongings and a heart burdened by regret. Some have lost contact with family. Others have never known what it feels like to be loved, encouraged, or given a genuine second chance.
That is why receiving a Bible is so important.

To a resident at Hand Up Ministries, a Bible is much more than a book. It is a source of hope when life seems hopeless. It is a guide when a man is trying to find a new direction. It reminds him that his past does not have to define his future and that God’s grace is greater than any mistake he has ever made.

Many residents read their Bible early in the morning before work or late at night when the campus becomes quiet. Within its pages they discover stories of men who failed, struggled, and fell, yet found redemption through faith. They learn that they are not alone and that God still has a purpose for their lives.

Every week, new residents arrive at Hand Up Ministries seeking a fresh start. Providing each man with a Bible gives him something he can call his own—a companion for the journey ahead. Long after classes are completed and challenges are overcome, that Bible often remains one of the most treasured possessions he owns.

At Hand Up Ministries, we believe that housing provides shelter, employment provides stability, but God’s Word provides lasting transformation. A Bible is not simply given to a resident; it is placed in his hands as a symbol of hope, healing, and the promise of a new beginning.

Many former residents have shared that the Bible they received at Hand Up Ministries became their most valued possession. Through difficult days, job searches, family restoration, and spiritual growth, it remained a constant reminder that God had not given up on them. For some, it marked the beginning of a completely new life.

As new residents continue to arrive each week, the need for Bibles remains constant. Every Bible placed into a resident’s hands is an investment in a changed life, a restored family, and a brighter future.
